About Us
A Service-Oriented
Congregation
"Shining the Light of Christ" is the vision at Westwood Church of God.
Just as Christ taught His disciples to "let your light shine before
others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in
heaven" (Matthew 5:16), we as followers of Christ are to be a witness
proclaiming the Light in word and deed in our communities and
throughout the world. Our goal is to provide, through our five purposes
of Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Service, and Mission, an impact
on our world for Christ. We offer several learning and serving
opportunities for all ages as we reflect the love of Christ!
History
The Westwood congregation has been a part
of the Westwood neighborhood for decades. We have
always had an outward-focused ministry meaning
we look to serve others as Jesus did.
Future Goals
We
want to continue to grow in our faith and in numbers for God's mighty
kingdom. We look toward the future in designing our services and
classes. One of our goals is to be a source of spiritual fulfillment
both in our community and in the world as a whole. We want to offer
everyone that wants it the opportunity
to practice their faith through acts. Become involved in a church. Be
part of the exciting life that is everlasting life in Christ Jesus.
